Battersea & Wandsworth TUC (BWTUC)
BWTUC campaigns on issues such as pay, housing, health and safety, public services, and bullying and harassment in the workplace, and builds alliances with community and anti-racist groups.
The Black Londoners Forum (BLF) is a proactive organisation, which seeks to advance the economic, political, cultural and social well being of Black and Ethnic Minority Londoners.
Commission for Racial Equality
The Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) is a publicly funded, non-governmental body set up under the Race Relations Act 1976 to tackle racial discrimination and promote racial equality.

solutions to emerging issues and improve opportunities
and enhance the quality of life for everyone in West London.
Crodon TUC campaigns on public services and a range of other issues affecting working people. It builds alliances with community and anti-racist groups.
CYWU (Community and Youth Workers Union)
CYWU was formed in 1938. The union focuses on supporting workers working with young people, within the community and in play work. The union is one of the only specialist trade unions and provides training and support to its members.
European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC)
The EUMC examines and makes concrete recommendations on the phenomena of racism and any form of discrimination against people from minority ethnic backgrounds. There has been a particular focus on the upsurge of Islamophobia and anti-Semitism since 11 September 2001.
The George Viner Memorial Fund was set up by the National Union of Journalists to support British Black and Asian students through the training they need to gain employment in radio, print and photo journalism. As well as providing course fees, books or travel payments, the Trust provides mentoring, course and careers guidance. This ensures that as many Black and Asian students as possible succeed in their chosen field.
GMB is a general union - which means that anyone can join it. GMB has members in every part of the economy doing every type of job imaginable. Every day of the year GMB offers protection at work and solves problems for GMB members. It provides back up, representation and advice on every issue related to your life at work.
This is a new website set up by Searchlight and Together - Hope Not Hate groups, supported by trade unions and the London Anti-Racist Alliance, to campaign against the BNP. As the BNP poses a serious political threat so people in every corner of the country are organising against it. Local political activists, faith organisations and community groups are coming together around the slogan Hope Not Hate. Enter this website and you will find out everything you need to know about the BNP, the threat it poses and most importantly the campaign against it. Through it you will know what is happening in your area and how you can get involved.
Institute of Employment Rights
The Institute of Employment Rights has just set up a new website which includes information on the ASLEF Trade Union victory at the European Court of Human Rights on 27th Feb 2007 over BNP Trade Union infiltration. The site also discusses Labour Migration from an employment rights perspective with the aim of developing policy recommendations which recognise the legitimacy of labour migration.
The Institute of Race Relations (IRR) was established as an independent educational charity in 1958 to carry out research, publish and collect resources on race relations throughout the world.
Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants
JCWI is an independent national voluntary organisation, campaigning for justice and combating racism in immigration and asylum law and policy.
JCWI provides free advice and casework, training courses, and a range of publications.
Liberty is one of the UK's leading human rights and civil liberties organisations. It believes in a society based on the democratic participation of all its members and the principles of justice, openness, the right to dissent and respect for diversity. It aims to secure the equal rights of everyone (as long as they don't infringe the rights and freedoms of others) and oppose any abuse or excessive power by the state against its people.
London Region GMB (Britain's General Union)
The GMB is a general trade union and is open to anyone. It currently has 600,000 members working in a range of different sectors. The union has been around for the last 12 decades in which time it has merged with many other unions and is now one of the UK's largest unions.
National Assembly Against Racism
The National Assembly Against Racism (NAAR) was established in 1994, at the initiative of black community organisations based in Tower Hamlets, following the community-led campaign against the election of a BNP councillor in a by-election in Millwall.
The Refugee Council is the largest organisation in the UK working with asylum seekers and refugees.
Refugees in Effective and Active Partnership (REAP)
The REAP organisation that empowers refugee communities and publishes
a directory of refugee oragnisations and services in West London.

Searchlight is a long-established organisation which provides information on the extreme right at home and abroad and initiates anti-fascist campaigns.
SKEIN
SKEIN is a Network for 3000 small community providers and offers
strategic support, practical information, workshops and conferences, help with partnership building, support to develop training programmes. SKEIN is a pan-London capacity building project funded by the London Learning & Skills Council (LSC) and European Social Fund (ESF). The Project is voluntary-sector-led.
The Society of Asian Lawyers is a campaigning and networking organisation - its primary aim is to eliminate all forms of discrimination within the legal profession. Anyone who shares its aims and is a lawyer or law undergraduate may join the society.
The Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians (UCATT) organises workers employed in all building trades, in both the private and public sectors.
United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) was established on December 14, 1950 by the United Nations General Assembly. Its primary purpose is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country.
UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
The Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) is the body of Independent experts that monitors implementation of the Convention on the elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination by its State parties.
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights
The United Nations vision is of a world in which the human rights of all are fully respected and enjoyed in conditions of global peace. The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) works to keep that vision to the forefront through constant encouragement of the international community and its member States to uphold universally agreed human rights standards.
It is our role to alert Governments and the world community to the daily reality that these standards are too often ignored or unfulfilled, and to be a voice for the victims of human rights violations everywhere. It is also our role to press the international community to take the steps that can prevent violations, including support for the right to development
