The Redwatch website is operated by the extreme right. It publishes photos and addresses of anti-fascist campaigners in an effort to intimidate them and silence them. Alex McFadden, president of Mersyside Trades Council, was almost blinded after being attacked on his doorstep in May. If he had not been able to close the door so quickly after being slashed across the face with a knife, his injuries could have been fatal. Mr McFadden's home address had been posted on Redwatch. Another target was Robbie Quinn, a Mersysire Liberal Democrat councillor, who began receiving threatening phone calls shortly after his details appeared on the site.

BNP only managed 3rd place in their target ward of
New Addington (Croydon) after LARA/Searchlight leafleting
There are two local election wards on the New Addington estate in Croydon: Fieldway and New Addington. According to Searchlight’s research:
On Saturday 29 April, 28 activists from London ARA, Searchlight, Battersea & Wandsworth Trades Council, Croydon Trades Council and local trade unions and political parties distributed the London edition of the Searchlight special election newspaper and a local Searchlight/LARA “Together - Hope not Hate” anti-BNP leaflet, “Croydon Matters”, to about two-thirds of the homes (about 2,800) in the New Addington ward. There was not enough time to leaflet the Fieldway ward on this occasion.

Observations
In the half of the New Addington estate that we leafleted (New Addington ward) an extra 10.61% of the electorate voted compared with the half we didn’t leaflet (Fieldway ward) and many more Labour Party and Conservative Party supporters turned out to vote than in Fieldway ward, reducing the % vote of the BNP and leaving them the 3rd placed party. In the half of the estate that we didn’t leaflet (Fieldway ward) the BNP increased its % vote and became the 2nd placed party.
